Arrowsmith is based on neuroscience research.

Research has shown it is possible to address learning disabilities by identifying and strengthening weak cognitive capacities. The goal of the program is to help individuals strengthen the weak cognitive capacities underlying their learning dysfunctions and to enable them to become effective, confident and self-directed learners for life.

Arrowsmith can support a variety of learning challenges, from school aged children struggling with reading and writing to those who need more intensive social and learning support needs, benefiting individuals who struggle with:

Working memory, reading maps, finding objects

Awkward body movements, bumping into things

Reading body language, social cues and interpreting emotions

Difficulty with maths, reading, writing, spelling, comprehending, letter and number reversals
Difficulty following conversations, thinking and talking at the same time
 Organisation and problem solving

Is your young person struggling with learning?

Take the Arrowsmith Cognitive Questionnaire

In this course, adult individuals are engaged in 3 – 8 cognitive exercises for 40 minute periods, 2 – 5 days per week. An individualised cognitive program then targets multiple weak cognitive functions.

3Bridges also offers additional learning, enhancement and vocational readiness activities. Integrating elements of Arrowsmith with personal development assists with wellbeing and independence. These can include independent living skills, travel training, exercise and social interaction.

After School / Part time

For school aged children, offered in the afternoons during school term for a 2 hour period. There is also a Saturday class for students wanting to do additional cognitive exercises.

Measurable outcomes include:

  • improved hand writing
  • reading
  • maths skills
  • quicker problem solving
  • improved social skills
  • increased ability to concentrate
